Accessibility Statement

Conformance target

AccessNomad targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA across the entire site, and Level AAA on critical paths (verifying a venue, reading a listing, submitting a correction).

What we do

• Status is always conveyed by three signals together: colour, icon shape, and text label — never colour alone.
• Skip-to-content links, semantic landmarks, and visible focus states on every interactive element.
• Minimum 44×44px touch targets on buttons, links, and form controls.
• Text contrast meets or exceeds 4.5:1 for body copy and 3:1 for large text and UI components.
• Forms have labels, error messages tied to their fields, and keyboard-accessible controls.
• Animation respects prefers-reduced-motion; the rotating headline holds a single phrase when reduced motion is set.
• The site is fully keyboard-navigable and tested with VoiceOver, NVDA, and JAWS.

Known limitations we're working on

• The mini-map on listing pages is decorative; we provide a "Get directions" link and the address as text. We're adding a non-visual route summary.
• Some historic Field Report editions predate our current alt-text standard; we're back-filling.
• Captions on user-submitted photos are added by contributors and may be missing on older submissions — we're prompting on submission and back-filling.
