Terms of Service

Last updated: June 29, 2026

Draft — pending legal review. These terms are published in good faith while counsel reviews the final wording. Email legal@accessnomad.com with questions.

These terms apply to anyone using AccessNomad — travelers reading the site, contributors submitting verifications, members, and venues that claim listings or license the badge.

What AccessNomad is

AccessNomad is a peer-verified access standard. We publish measurements and first-hand accounts of how physical venues actually work for travelers with access needs. We are not a booking platform, a medical service, or a guarantor of any venue's condition on the day you visit.

Use of the site

You agree to use AccessNomad lawfully and not to:

  • Submit knowingly false measurements or fabricated Arrivals.
  • Impersonate another contributor or a venue.
  • Scrape the site to rebuild a competing directory.
  • Use The Scooter Standard™ wordmark or badge to imply verification we did not issue.

Contributions and content rights

When you submit a verification, Arrival, photo, or review, you grant AccessNomad a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to publish, edit for clarity and length, translate, and redistribute it as part of the standard. You keep your copyright. You warrant the content is your own first-hand experience and does not defame anyone.

We may remove or edit submissions that violate these terms, contain personal attacks, or cannot be substantiated. We will tell you why.

The verdict is never for sale

Verification status (Verified, Verified with Caveats, Did Not Pass, Unverified) is decided by peer measurement against The Scooter Standard™ and cannot be purchased, sponsored, or negotiated. A venue may pay to license the Verified badge for its own marketing after it has earned the status, and may pay for clearly labelled Featured placement — but Featured placement is available only to already-Verified venues and never changes a rating, hides a failure, or moves a venue out of an Honest Failures listing. See For Venues for the full firewall.

Disclaimers

AccessNomad verifications are peer field observations and personal opinion shared by travelers with access needs. They are not a professional accessibility certification, an architectural audit, or legal advice about ADA, Equality Act, or any other regulatory compliance. If you need a binding compliance determination, retain a qualified professional.

Measurements are taken at a point in time. Venues change. Doors get re-hung, lifts break, staff turn over. We mark each verification with a date and we re-verify on a schedule, but we cannot guarantee a venue is in the same condition the day you arrive. Use AccessNomad as a starting point, not a substitute for calling ahead when access is critical.

AccessNomad is provided on an "as is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site.

Account closure

You may close your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend accounts that submit knowingly false data, harass other contributors, or violate these terms.

Changes to these terms

We'll post material changes here and notify members and Field Report subscribers by email before they take effect.
